When people are hungry, they crave food and when they are thirsty they crave something to drink. When it is dark at night, people everywhere long to have a light to see by until they are ready to sleep. There are over 1.3 billion people on the earth who live every day without the benefits of electricity and use some kind of flame to see at night.
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world.” (Matt. 5:16) and we should take the light into the world. New Vision provides products that help bring light to dark places, giving people a greater chance to thrive. Working with church mission and outreach teams, 4,000 Ray of Life solar powered lights are pushing back the darkness in 39 countries, 4 reservations and 2 American territories.
Light was first a gift of God in creation and it is a tool that draws people together in dark nights anywhere. Regardless of someone’s faith or lack of faith, when it is dark at night the gift of light can lead to extending the hours of human productivity. For children in the developing world, it is a gift to be able to study the lessons they are given at school by the light of a solar powered lamp, without the harmful effects of smoke.
